What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a comprehensive health care profession that addresses a wide variety of health related factors impacting human physiology. Chiropractic physicians are broadly educated and extensively trained in evidence-based medicine to provide whole health healing to patients. They specialize in natural, non-invasive health care and are trained to use a full range of medical diagnostic tools and a wide array of effective treatment options in the care of their patients.
Chiropractic care is a safe, effective, and respected part of today's mainstream health care system. Treatments often include spinal adjustments, physiotherapy, nutritional and lifestyle counseling, and physical rehabilitation therapy.
What We Treat
Acute Care
This includes all of the common neck and back pain issues as well as musculo-skeletal issues involving the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and feet.
Wellness care
Periodic checkups are designed to help locate small issues before they become big ones. Most patients in this category have little to no symptoms but choose to continue regular care because they realize the difference that an ongoing program of care has on their overall health. The bottom line; healthy patient / happy patient.
Techniques / Specialized Therapies
Electric Muscle Stimulation
Is a special form of electrical current administered to the vicinity of soft tissue injury, especially muscles, for the relief of pain, reduction of swelling, and the release of endorphins and the body's other natural painkillers. It feels great, is very soothing, and can be extremely effective.
Ultrasound
One of my most favorite treatments is the use of therapeutic ultrasound. This treatment uses high frequency sound waves administered in the region of soft tissue injuries. Sound vibrations as fast as a million times a second penetrate the deep tissues of the body to warm them. These vibrations and heat help break down and disperse unhealthy calcium and other hard tissue accumulations. Most patients will describe a pleasant and relaxing warmth below the surface of the skin during the actual treatment. Ultrasound works by increasing tissue temperature, increasing blood flow, relaxing muscle spasms, massaging damaged tissues, and helping to speed the healing process.
aqua massage
A convenient, safe, and comfortable form of massage therapy. Our offices utilizes the AquaMed water massage table. Containing 25 gallons of heated water, many of our non-acute patients are offered the opportunity to enjoy a 15-minute session on our Aqua Massage table. Performed prior to an adjustment, this unique therapy is incredibly comfortable and relaxing and relieves muscle soreness, stiffness, and tension, creating the ultimate sense of well-being.
Graston Technique
Known as instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), the Graston method enables me to effectively address scar tissue and fascial restrictions in the various muscle groups and tissues of your body. The technique uses specially designed stainless steel instruments, along with appropriate therapeutic exercise, to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. The instruments are also used to locate and treat the cause of the symptom as well as the specific area of pain.
x-ray
We have recently upgraded our x-ray imaging system to a new, digital system that allows us to immediately show you your results on the computer right after we take them. Instead of having to wait for films to develop, we can quickly identify your needs and place our focus on helping you feel better quickly.
